Animal Welfare Society of Howard County will have many opportunities for volunteering in virtually all areas of our operations. Positions available will include Shelter Managers, Shift Leaders / Dog Walkers, Transport Coordinators, Transport Assistants, Drivers, Adoption Coordinators, Adoption Counselors, Foster Coordinators, Foster Counselors, Volunteer Coordinators, Medical Coordinators, Veterinary Support Staff, Fundraising and Development Staff and Writers, Photographers, Social Media Specialists, IT Specialists, Handyman / Construction Staff, and more.
The rescue is currently amidst a complete overhaul of the facility to include demolition and reconstruction. That will be the focus of our volunteer work until we achieve our Phase 1 operational readiness. Phase 1 will mark the beginning of our rescue and adoption work and is dependent on the completion of renovation activities for one floor of one of our buildings. Until that time our need for volunteers will focus mainly on demo, construction and cleaning assistance. If you would like to contribute in this way during our early days of renovation, that's awesome! Please get in touch or watch this site or our Facebook page for announcements of upcoming opportunities.
For other types of volunteer opportunities, we will start to advertise those as we get closer to our Phase 1 operational readiness. As we get closer to that time we will post a volunteer signup form where you will be able to indicate the types of volunteering you would like to do, your availability, and how we can get in touch with you.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for this cause and we can't wait for you to join the AWSHC team!
